Writers: How to Pitch

Step 1: Make sure you're eligible.
Your manuscript must be unpublished and unagented. One submission per writer. All genres and categories welcome.
Step 2: Prepare your pitch. Your pitch should include:-Title
- Author name
- Email
-Word count
-A short pitch (comparable to a query letter hook — one to three sentences that capture the heart of your book)
Keep it tight. Agents and editors read quickly.Step 3: Submit your pitch.
Until April 20th, submit your pitch using the official Pocket Pitch Submission Form.
Submissions close at 12:00 AM PST on April 20th and post at 12:00 AM PST on April 21st, closing at 11:59 p.m. that same day.[SUBMIT YOUR PITCH → BELOW THIS MESSAGE]Step 4: After you submit, sit tight.
Participating agents and small presses will browse pitches throughout the day on April 21st. If someone is interested in your manuscript, you'll receive a request through the platform.
Step 5: Follow individual submission guidelines
If (manifest when) Blake contacts you with an agent or press request for submission, follow their specific instructions when sending your materials. Blake will facilitate any nontraditional methods of submission.

We're glad you're here. Pocket Pitch brings together agents and small presses of all sizes with writers across every genre and category.Step 1: Register to participate.
Fill out the form below to be listed as a participating agent or press. Registration confirms your intent to actively review pitches on April 21st.

Starting at 12:00 AM EST on April 21st, writer pitches will be available to browse on the event platform. The window is open for 24 hours.
Step 3: Request what interests you.
If a pitch catches your eye, reach out using the form provided on the day of the event. Writers will be notified of your interest and how to submit.

Only if your manuscript has not been submitted to publishers. When in doubt, check with your former agent before submitting.

What happens if an agent or press is interested in my work?
If a participating agent or small press is interested in your pitch, they will request it through the event platform. You'll be notified and can then submit according to their individual submission guidelines.
